This policy explains what information Cook with AI collects, why it is collected, and how it is used. The short version: we collect the information needed to sell access, let members log in, send important emails, and keep the site working.
Information we collect
We may collect your email address, name, purchase status, login session data, access requests, payment metadata, and activity logs related to authentication and membership access. We may also process technical request information, such as IP-derived rate limit data or server logs, to protect the login flow and debug the site.
If you submit a form, request access, buy the product, log in, or contact us, we collect the information needed to handle that action.
Payments
Payments are currently processed by Paddle. Cook with AI does not need to store your full payment card details. We may receive payment status, product, customer, and transaction metadata through checkout and webhook events so access can be granted, payment records can be kept, purchase confirmations can be sent, and abuse or chargebacks can be handled.
Login and cookies
Cook with AI uses cookies for member login, including an HTTP-only session cookie and a simple logged-in marker. These cookies help keep you signed in and let the site know whether member-only content should be shown.
We use Resend to send login links, purchase confirmations, access information, and important account messages. Purchasers may also be added to the Cook with AI email list in Sendy for product updates. You can unsubscribe from marketing-style emails, but we may still send transactional emails needed for login, purchases, access, or support.
How we use information
We use collected information to:
- create and verify member access
- send secure login links
- process purchases and payment events
- respond to support or access requests
- protect the site from abuse
- send product updates when you are subscribed to the email list
- improve the product and understand what needs attention
Third-party services
Cook with AI may use third-party services for hosting, database, authentication, email, payments, newsletter delivery, community access, and other product operations. Current examples include Netlify for hosting, Convex for membership data and sessions, Paddle for payments, Resend for email delivery, Sendy for email list management, and Discord for the member community. These services process data according to their own privacy policies.
If you join the private Discord community, your Discord account, profile, messages, and interactions inside Discord are also handled by Discord under Discord's own terms and privacy policy.
Data retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide access, maintain records, handle support, prevent abuse, and meet operational or legal needs. If data is no longer needed, it may be deleted or anonymized.
Your choices
You can contact us to ask about your personal information, request a correction, or ask for deletion where applicable. Some records may need to be kept for payment, security, or legal reasons.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect account and access data. No system is perfect, so you should also protect your email account and avoid sharing login links.
Changes
This policy may change over time. If it changes, the updated version will be posted on this page.
